Kay Cole James is a black, conservative, and Christian who has lived the American Dream without forgetting her roots. She has served under two U.S. Presidents and now heads a conservative think tank. Kay is the first black president of the Heritage Foundation, and the author of two books, Never Forget: The Riveting Story of One Woman’s Journey from Public Housing to the Corridors of Power and Transforming America from the Inside Out.
Kay Coles Jameshas an extensive background in crafting public policy and leading in nearly every sector of America’s economy. She has worked at the local, state, and federal levels of government under the administrations of former U.S. President George H. W. Bush, served twice between (1989-1993), former Virginia Governor George Allen (1994-1996), and former U.S. President George W. Bush (2001-2005), and she has also served dozens of organizations in the corporate, and nonprofit arenas. Mrs. James has a passion for serving the youth of America and has substantial experience in the field of education.
